ColorCoded PaintBall
No, literally. It's a ball of paint, wherein all the colors have been coded. Use WASD to control your ball. The ring all the way on the right represents the color your ball has to become. The intensity of the underglow represents the intensity of the color hue.
ART 4653C
SYMPOSIUM ABSTRACT
ColorCoded PaintBall - In an art class, light and color are two of the most fundamental components of creative expression. Sans language and audio, light and color are two halves that make a whole language of communication. I tried to capture the oversimplicity of interacting this way, which is why there is no UI (e.g. buttons, score) or in game human characters.
My overemphasis on color and light may create a chaos of visuals, but I made the game so the player ultimately controls how chaotic the environment becomes. Intense lighting requires intense colors and hues, therefore requiring the player to move their ball for longer and letting it marinate it moderately in a colored ring.
Color theory may be a lesson learned in elementary school, but the simple joy of playing with pigments is evergreen (amongst other colors).
